White Ocean Racing is the company set up by world renown solo sailor Steve White and his wife Kim as a vehicle for Steve's world class sailing adventures.

In 2008 / 2009, Steve circumnavigated the globe; 27000 miles non- stop and alone with no outside assistance in the Vendée Globe yacht race, which is widely regarded as the pinnacle of sailing.

Going forward, Steve and the team are searching for sponsors for two exciting campaigns, the 2012 Vendée Globe, and also a record attempt that people who know him say was made for him – to take on sailings toughest challenge - sailing “Westabout” non-stop and alone the wrong way around the World

Steve, currently ranked as one of the world’s top 10 sailors, completed the world's toughest solo ocean race, finishing 8th out of 30 competitors.

Steve proved himself not only a talented solo ocean racer competing alongside the top professional names in the sport, but also an excellent, colourful and good humoured communicator Steve's hard-wired desire to reach his goal and not to take no for an answer, is the most inspirational facet of a remarkable character.

Around Ireland 2010...

Around the world yachtsman Steve white will be taking part in this year’s Round Ireland Race. The race will be celebrating its 30th anniversary when the boats line up for the start on the 20th of June in Wicklow Harbour.

Steve’s yacht will carry different branding from the now familiar ‘Toe in the Water’, Rosslare-Europort will be sponsoring Steve for the race. Rosslare-Europort, Irelands premier ferryport, is the closest point from Southern Ireland to the UK and Europe and serviced by all major ferry companies year round. There will be five crew accompanying Steve onboard, all of whom are Irish.

Local company, Dorset Cereals will also be supporting Steve for the Round Ireland Race and for his future projects. Harriet McKay at Dorset Cereals said “ Dorset Cereals are absolutely thrilled to be supporting local round the world yachtsman Steve White. His courage and talent are an inspiration to us all. He is famous for his love of porridge and we are only too happy that he has chosen our porridges and cereal bars to accompany him on his sailing adventures. Best of luck Steve”

Steve also has a new project up his sleeve, which he will be announcing on his return from Ireland.

“I’m really looking forward to the race, it should be good!” said Steve. “It’s great to have secured Rosslair-Europort as a sponsor for this race. I’m also really pleased to have Dorset Cereals supplying me with porridge - I just love porridge! It’s brilliant to have the support of a local company. And as for the new project, it’s really very exciting – you’ll just have to watch this space!”

Steve consumed 70 lb of porridge and 15 large cans of golden syrup during the last Vendee Globe race. He finished in 109 days 36 minutes and 55 seconds.
